Rock Pirates has a full fleet of Polaris side-by-sides, a whole new first-class experience for your family vacation. All Polaris vehicles are fully loaded with a touchscreen GPS unit, a lock and ride cooler box, and power steering. We provide helmets and goggles at no extra cost to all our guests. We do not required a security deposit on any vehicle in our fleet. We also cover the cost of fuel & require no cleaning prior to vehicle return.
ARE THE ADVENTURES SAFE?
Off road driving on any type of OHV or ATV is an outdoor adventure sport with an element of inherent risk, and it is possible to be injured. Is it dangerous? No, but no reputable outfitter should tell you that it’s absolutely safe. The uncontrolled and sometimes unpredictable elements of the backcountry are part of the thrill.
DID SILVERTON BAN OHVS?
On October 12th, 2021 Silverton voted to ban OHVs on all streets, alleys and right-of-ways within town limits. The good news is that the ordinance does not affect the trails or the Alpine Loop. We will continue to be a familiar face at our storefront at 957 Greene Street in Silverton. The OHVs will be staged at a second location outside of the town limits, near the trailheads on County Road 2. Our guests can still get on and ride like they’re used to! A shuttle service from Silverton to County Road 2 will be offered for your convenience, or you may choose to drive your own vehicle.
WHAT ABOUT LAKE CITY?
While it is no longer possible to ride a side-by-side in Silverton, Lake City welcomes OHVs and continues to allow their use on the streets.
IF WE ARE ON AN UNGUIDED ADVENTURE, HOW WILL WE KNOW WHERE WE ARE GOING?
After a comprehensive vehicle orientation, we will familiarize you with the San Juan County Backcountry and the endless possibilities awaiting you and your family. Whether you want to explore historic mines, experience-breathtaking views, or challenge your off-road driving skills, we will help you plan your mission. You will then be provided with:
- All Groups receive a Touch Screen GPS technology mapping device that clearly shows routes names, intersections, forks in the road, and water crossing.
- A detailed paper map of the area we provide during your check-out.
- An emergency communication device in all Polaris RZR’s.
